Effects of Stoichiometric Ratio of Fe2O3 on the Crystallographic,Microstructural and Magnetic Properties of NiCuZn Ferrites

NiCuZn ferrites were prepared by a solid-state reaction method with the compositions of Fe2O3,ZnO, CuO and NiO. Toroidal cores were sintered at 1120℃ in air for 3h. We investigated the relationship between magnetic properties of NiCuZn ferrties and Fe2O3 stoichiometry by measuring magnetic properties. We used the scanning electron microscope to observe the fractured surface of sintered samples. Also, we characterized the crystallographic properties of samples by the X-ray diffraction meter. The results show that initial permeability (μi), saturation magnetic induction (Bs), power loss (PCV), lattice parameter (a) and grain size (D) of NiCuZn ferrties depend on the content of Fe2O3. With the increase of Fe2O3 content, initial permeability, saturation magnetic induction, lattice parameter and grain size increase initially and then decrease, while power loss changes contrarily. When the content of Fe2O3 is 50.0 mol%, initial permeability and saturation magnetic induction reach their maxima while power loss gets its minimum.
