Research Progress of Uniaxial Hexagonal Strontium Ferrites Nanoscale Particles
The research status of crystal structure, magnetic properties and temperature characterisitcs of transition metal (TM) cations subtituted SrFe12O19 nanoparticles is reported in this paper. Recently, the studies on TM and diamagnetic ions substitution focus mostly on ZnTi, CoTi, Znlr, LnZn, LnNb and ZnCr, etc.. The experiment results show that it is very important to control heat treatment temperature in the starting solution of SrFe12O19 to synthesize nanoscale particles and increase saturation magnetization with a small doping content,for example, Ms of SrZn0.7Nb0.3xFe12-xO19 reaches a maximum of 73.3 ernu/g from 64 emu/g of SrFe12O19 when x=0~0.8. Additional, doped strontium hexaferrite particles have a very small positive temperature coefficient of coercivity and good temperature stability under room temperature. These features are suitable to applly it for magnetic recording.
