Photocatalytic degradation of reactive dye by nano-ZnO
In the paper strongly basic anion-exchange resins as templates and zinc sulfate solution were mixed and stirred to prepare nano-ZnO.The products were characterized by scanning electron microscope,X-ray diffraction,ultraviolet-visible and other methods,which showed that the as-prepared products are nano-ZnO with hexagonal wurtzite and clubbed structure and the ratio of length and diameter is 10:1.and the as-prepared nano-ZnO has an absorption peak at 400nm wavelength.Photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue,methyl orange and rhodamine B with difierent initial concentrations by the nano-ZnO as catalyst was studied respectively under solar light;the results showed that their decoloration rates are all more than 90%.However,the decoloration rates of methyl orange and rhodamine B solution decrease gradually with the increase of initial concentrations.
