Ozonation of tetracycline in aqueous solution
The effect of gaseous ozone concentration, ozone gas flow rate, hydrogen peroxide,tert-butyl alcohol and pH on the removal of tetracycline by ozonafion was investigated in an internal loop airlift reactor. The results showed that the removal rate increased with the increase of ozone gas flow rate, gaseous ozone concentration and pH However, further increase of pH would not improve tetracycline disappearance rate significantly when pH reached 7.8.The presence of hydrogen peroxide or tert-butyl alcohol has little effect on the degradation of tetracycline, indicating ozonation of tetracycline is mainly a direct molecular type reaction rather than radical reaction.
