Synthesis and properties of poly (aryl ether ketene) copolymers containing hexafluoroisopropylidene groups
Poly (aryl ether ketene) (PAEK) is a class of important high performance aromatic polymers. But it is difficult for PAEKs to be used as thin films and coating materials because of their poor solubility. To obtain the desired solubility, processability and other properties, various structural changes have been introduced into the PAEKs by several researchers 1-4.Many researchers5-11 have shown that the incorporation of hexafluoroisopropylidene groups into polymer backbones increase the polymer solubility, thermal stability and lower dielectric constants. In this paper, we reported the synthesis of the novel PAEK copolymers containing hexafluoroisopropylidene groups derived from 4, 4-difluorobenzophenone (DFK) with tert-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ) and 6F-bisphenol A (6FBPA). Their structure-properties relationships are discussed.
