Preparation and characterization of poly(2,5-dimercapto-l,3,4-thiadiazole)- polyaniline copolymer intercalated graphite oxide composites
2,5-dimercapto-l,3,4-thiadiazole (DMcT) is recognized as the cathode material with the most potential due to its high theoretical specific capacity and high stability to temperature. A particularly interesting aspect of the behavior of DMcT is the apparent facilitation of its oxidative polymerization and reductive depolymerization by polyaniline (PANI). However, the DMcT-PANI composite cathodes were only made through the electrochemical method in the previous articles. Graphite oxide (GO) is a typical pseudo-two-dimensional solid in bulk form. Electrical conductivity of GO is very low due to the presence of hydroxyl, carbonyl and ether groups in structure. However, these groups make GO easily absorb polar polymers by different methods to form the intercalated composites. The intercalated composites of conductive organodisulfes make the electrical, electrochemical and thermal properties of GO to be greatly improved.
