Novel Natural Rubber/Organo-Vermiculite Nanocomposites: Preparation and Mechanical properties

Polymer/layered silicate nanocomposites have attracted considerable attention from polymer scientists inrecent years. These nanocomposites exhibit superior properties such as higher tensile strength, modulus, heatresistance, light weight, and less permeability to gas at a lower level of loading relative to conventionally scaledcomposites because of the nanometer-scale dispersion of reinforcements and the high surface-to-volume ratio l-5.In most of reports, the layered silicate was montmorillonite.
