Dendritic-to-Faceted Crystal Pattern Transition of a Crystalline Polymer
The formation of diverse patterns, such as dendrite, seaweed, compact structure etc., has been one of themost fascinating topics of condensed matter and statistical physics 1,2. Previous effort was directed atunderstanding macroscopic and microscopic driving forces which control the formation mechanisms ofindividual patterns. Recent investigation is placing on the transition between different patterns which ischallenging the particular interest of theoretical 3-7 and experimental 8-10 scientists. However, fewexperimental studies are hard to elucidate the driving force turnover during pattern transition.
