A system perspective to establish a mobile collaborative learning environment (MCLE)-A preliminary study of Empirical Practice
In the near future, students will utilize manyconvenient devices connecting to wireless networksto form a mobile learning environment in theclassroom. The research outcomes of Nussbaum seemto imply that mobile learning devices can effectivelyimprove conventional collaborative learning, e.g.providing every student equal opportunities forexpressing himself as well as gathering essentialinformation to formulate solid conclusions 1.Although there are many academic investigationsrelated to mobile learning software and infrastructuredevelopment, it is rare to find feasible practices andsolutions of platforms and methodologies to fosterlearning activities. The aim of this study is to deploymobile CSCL scenario by means of integratedEduclasses, TupleSpaces and Group Scribbles, acollection of software designed to facilitate studentsengaging in face-to-face collaborative learning inclass activities. The outcomes after the completion oflearning activities showed this one-to-one mobiletechnology enhanced instructional design indeedarouses students motivations and improves studentsmutual interactions.
