Study on Orthogonal Experiment and Affecting Factors on Pb2+ Adsorption by Saccharomyces Cerevisiae

Dynamic adsorption of dead-immobilized Saccharomyces cerevisiae on Pb2+ in continuous-upflow reactor was studied through orthogonal experiment to investigate the optimal operating parameters of pH value、flow rate、adsorbent concentration as well as affect factors, such as yeast diameter, initial Pb2+ concentration and initial pH value. It showed that the optimal conditions were ofpH6、flow rate 5mL/min、adsorbent concentration 80 g/L. And the optimal diameter was 2.5mm,initial Pb2+ concentration 20mg/L, optimal pH value 6. In the early 40 minutes of the experiment, Ct/C increased fast, which indicated that a majority of, up to 92% of Pb2+ was adsorbed. The adsorption process by dead-immobilized discarded Saccharomyces cerevisiae in continuous-upflow reactor was very fast. It was feasible to wipe off Pb2+ in wastewater by continuous-upflow reactor, which could guide future researchers and establish foundation for its industrialization.
