Experimental Study on Oxidation and Heat Emission Law of Lost Coal in Goaf

Under the condition ofeontinuing air leakage, the lost coal in goaf will be able to have the retarded oxidation and to cause temperature increment, which subsequently possibly will initiate the spontaneous combustion. Therefore the research on oxidation and heat emission law of lost coal in goal has the vital practical significance to prevent and control the residual coals spontaneous combustion. In this paper, a self designed test installation of oxidation with elevating temperature was used to carry out experiments on the different coal samples. The result of experiments are used to calculate the coals speed rate of consuming oxygen (SRCO) and the heat-release rate (HRR) of different coal samples at different temperatures. The critical temperature (CT) of residual coals oxidation exothermic was obtained through the relations of SRCO, HRR and temperature. On this basis, it is concluded that the residual coals oxidation exothermic is relatively slowly with temperature below the CT and the residual coals oxidation exothermic is sharply increased with temperature above CT.
