Spontaneous Combustion Characteristics of Several Typical Chinese Coals under Adiabatic Conditions
In order to predict the spontaneous combustion characteristics of coals more aceumtely, an adiabatic oxidation device was developed to testing the propensity of coals to spontaneous combustion according to the principles of the adiabatic oxidation method. Followed, some typical coals, lignite, bituminous and anthracite from china coal mine, were used to determine by the device. As a result, the curves of temperature-time were obtained that describing the process of spontaneous combustion. Results show that: the adiabatic oxidation method covers many factors that influenced the propensity of coal to spontaneous combustion, such as coal rank, structure, process of coals reaction to oxygen, quantity of oxygen absorbed by coal. It is, therefore, much better for determining the propensity of coals to spontaneous combustion.
