Evaluation of Competitiveness of Port Logistics Industry in Yangtze River Delta Using Hierarchical Fuzzy Process
This paper examines the competitiveness of port logistics industry in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) in China using the Hierarchy Fuzzy Process(HFP).The results demonstrate that Shanghai is the number one among the selected ports in terms of perceived logistics industry competitiveness on the representative criteria.The logistics industry competitiveness of the other ports is ordered as Ningbo-Zhoushan,Suzhou,Nanjin,Nantong,Zhenjiang,Yangzhou,Jiangyin,and Taizhou.The competitiveness of the last five ports is nearly the same.The analysis results can provide the reference for reasonably positioning the development of each ports logistics industry in this region and achieving the coordination among these ports.Furthermore,the method used here shows the potential to be applicable to the ports and logistics related service industries in other regions.
