Effects of Tillage Managements on the Soil Physical Properties and the Water Utilization Efficiency of Winter Wheat
In order to filtrate the feasible tillage technology in the rainfed xerocline field in West Henan province, China, three tillage managements including no tillage(NT),subsoiling tillage(ST) and conventional tillage(CT) were studied in their effects on the soil physical properties and the water utilization efficiency. The results showed as following: The soil bulk density decreased under ST and increased under NT. Under ST and NT, the soil temperature was evidently decreased in the former stage of winter wheat growth and development. And the differences of effects of tillage managements on soil temperature in the later stage were not significant. The results also indicated that the soil water retaining capacity was outstanding improved under NT and ST. Compared with CT, the average water content of 0~160cm layer in whole wheat growing season, soil water retaining capacity, and water utilization efficiency increased by 6.32%, 4.41%, and 3.09%, respectively, under NT and increased by 5.00%,3.09%, and 8.17% respectively, under ST.
