Studies on the Method of Correlation Function for Calculation of Correlation Distance of Soft Properties Indicator

This paper gives an introduction to the actual physical significance of correlation distance in geotechnical engineering, as well as the basic thought and criteria for selection of the type of standard correlation functions during calculation of correlation distance through the method of correlation function, and the standard type of correlation function for some typical soil layers. Its been found that when the standard correlation function of soil parameters is in comphance with exponential function,especially the single exponential function, the correlation function method can fairly well determine the value of correlation distance of the soil layer. After a lot of calculations, weve obtained the distribution range of correlation distance in Shijiazhuang, as well as the three typical soil layers in the Qiaodong District, and in the end, this paper calculated the range of correlation distance values of the three typical soil layers in Qiaodong District of Shijiazhuang. This paper proved certain practical application values for well location and sampling intervals during reconnaissance works of geotechnical engineering.Correlation distance features regional distribution, and the region-based studies prove real significance.
