Telecommunication would Deliver more Managed Services for SMEs:Trends and Prosperity
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) find running business troublesome not only for improving core competitiveness, but also in the aspect of taking care of IT infrastructure. However, seemingly they can not get the expected results due to the lack of IT specialists. On the other hand, with the substitution effect of traditional telecommunication service and the relative market saturation of broadband service, most telecom operators, like British Telecom (BT),Korea Telecom (KT) and AT&T,have started focusing on managed services for exploring new markets and retaining existing customers.Under these circumstances,China Telecom (CT) launched the SME-oriented managed service-BizNavigator— and got some achievements. This paper illustrates the current managed service developments and discusses business trends for C-society,E-society and U-society,and accompanying services.Suggestions are also given to CT and China Netcom to achieve the goal of U-society.
