Microorganism effects on phosphorus circulation and conversion in the multi-phase interface between water and sediment
Microorganism effects on phosphorus circulation and conversion in the multi-phase interface between water and sediment were investigated under three conditions,i.e.aerobic,anaerobic and adding reductant, through a series of simulation experiments on a water-sediment reactor system using sediments from Fenhe Reservoir. The results show that endogenous phosphorus and ferrous are not released under aerobic condition.Under anaerobic condition microbial activities significantly promotes the phosphorus and ferrous release by reducing the oxidation-reduction potential(ORP)value of surrounding environment. In the reactor without microorganisms, the endogenous phosphorus and ferrous are released only after adding strong reductant And it was also found that Fe-P and O-P are more easily to be released with the microbial activates.
