Optical Position of CODP Based on Postponement Manufacture

Through postponing the customer order decoupling point in the production process, processing cost of products should be reduced accordingly, while inventory holding cost and investment cost for redesigning operations are on the rise. Hence, the position of CODP depends on the tradeoff of processing cost, inventory holding cost and investment cost. Then, by formulating a quantitative model based on cost, the total cost of the first s-1 operations of production process is analyzed. And takingthe delivery lead time in customer order as a restriction condition into account, the optimal position of CODP under four kinds of situations is acquired according as its range. It is expressed with a formula for the optimal position of CODP on the basis of analyzing four kinds of situations.
