STUDY ON THE REASONABLE HEIGHT OF THE TURNING RACK FOR GOODS TRANSPORTED BY FIVE WAGONS
The height of the goods turning rack can be got by the model in Regulations on Loading and Securing ofRailway Goods when the goods need to be transported by five wagons. It was calculated just based on the parametersof the hump. The height of the goods turning rack determined by it would be too high to design, and it may lead thecenter of gravity of loaded wagon over 2000mm and the top of the goods may be out-of-gauge, etc, and increase thedifficulty of transportation. This paper puts forward models when the straddled wagons running on the convex andconcave vertical curve. Following that, it classifieds the position of the calculating points into three parts, above middle runner wagon, above loaded wagon and above two ends runner wagons. And then the model of the reasonableheight of the goods turning rack is given. After that, a practical example is calculated, and the result indicates that thereasonable height of the goods turning rack can be obtained by the model.
