OPTIMIZATION MODEL FOR THE PLANNING OF E-WASTE REVERSE LOGISTICS NETWORK
With the e-waste reverse logistics network analyzed, this paper presents an optimization model for network planning. The e-waste reverse logistics covers different stages, such as e-waste collection, disassembly, sorting, bulk recycling and reuse of recovered valuable material fractions, as well as the specific treatment of hazardous material separated from e-waste. With cost minimization as its objective, the proposed mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model, can help determine the optimized facility location and material flow within the reverse logisticsnetwork. The factors considered in the model include the fixed cost, operation cost, transportation cost, capacity, andresale of recovered material, as well as government recycling subsidy. The model can deal with multiple kinds ofe-waste, and considers professional disassembly and bulk recycling companies as a sub-network, which can flexiblysupport logistics activity among the companies within the sub-network.
