CLINICAL APPLICATIONS OF BIOMEDICAL POLYMERS FOR TISSUE ENGINEERING

Just two decates have passed since J. P. Vacanti, R. Langer and their co-workers published a paper entitled Selective Cell Transplantation Using Bioabsorbable Artificial Polymers as Matrices in J. Pediatr. Surg, Vol 23,1988: pp3-9. An illustration depicted in their paper is represented below.In this lecture I would like to summarize what kind of progress in tissue engineering with use ofbioabsorbable polymers has been achieved since 1988.
