Immobilization of Antioxidant on Nanosilica and the Antioxidative Behavior in Polyolefins
IntroductionThe aim of this work is to prepare a novel antioxidant using nanosilica as solid support to immobilize reactive antioxidant onto the surface. Hence, the chemically immobilization of reactive antioxidant onto the surface of nanosilica particles has been investigated. The antioxidative efficiency was evaluated by oxidative induction time (OIT) method. It has been revealed that the nanosilica-immobilized antioxidant retained excellent stability in LDPE and PP matrix. Therefore, this nanosilica-immobilized antioxidant is expected to be a new type of antioxidant with high performances such as non-volatile, non-migratory and not lost during the aggressive service life.
