The regularities of photopolymerization of polyethyleneglycoi dimethacrylates in the presence of ionic liquids

It is well known that the application of ionic liquids (ILs) as solvents or additives for processes of radical polymerization leads to decreasing of reaction time, high yields, increasing molecular weight of polymer and its conversion depending on the nature of ILs. We investigated the influence of additives of ionic liquids of various nature on kinetic of photopolymerization of the number of liquid oligoethermethacrylates. For kinetic studies the dimethacrylate of polyethylenglycols (DMPEG) with various length ofoligomer block (n from 1 to 7-8, where n-is the number of oxyethylene units included in oligomer block) were chosen. As additives we used ionic liquids based on imidazolium, phosphonium, ammonium and pyrolidonium cations with various substitutes and anions.Photopolymerization kinetics was investigated by thermographic analysis, using 9.10-phenanthrenequinone as photoinitiator. A KGM 24-250 lamp was used as the light source; the light intensity was 40 kLx. Dependences of the reduced rate of photopolymerization on the number of oxyethylene units in oligomer block have extreme character with maximum for dimethacrylate ester of triethylene glycol.
