Properties of High Performance Polyolefin Materials Prepared via Polymer Reaction

Cycloolefin copolymer (COC) and Cycloolefin polymer (COP) attract a large researchers contributing to the scientific and industrial development due to theirs high performance and promising application in electronic and optical field. COCs and COPs are characterized outstandingly by excellent transparency, low birefringence, high service temperature, long-life service, low water absorption and so on.Our interest in the development ofpolyolefin materials based on cycloolefins special structure and polymer reaction strategies had led us to recently communicate a series of polymers modified with bulky cycloalkane such as norbomene (NB), tetracyclododecane (TD) and adamantane (Ad). With regard to the preparation of COC and COP, polymer reaction should be considered as a simple and effect method, although few literatures concerning it were reported. The preparation and properties of the resulting (co)polymers will be reported herein.
