Preparation and Properties of Functional Polyester Nanocomposite Materials
Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) as packing resins has properties of light weight and high transparency. In the paper, PET copolymerized with glycerol while filled with modified nano-SiO2 particles produced the G-NPET samples. This G-NPET film loaded with 0.2 wt% of glycerol and 1%~2% of nano-SiO2 produced the oxygen permeation of 36.5%~40.7% lower than that of PET. The G-NPET has better barrier behavior than the latter.
