Breakage Mechanism Analysis of Rock Based on Uniaxial Compression CT Test

Rockburst is one of the catastrophic mine failures resulted from sudden releases of strain energy. Rockburst mechanism is very complex because of its nonlinear and dissipative structure properties. In order to investigate the mechanism of rockburst, X-ray industrial computerized tomography (ICT) machine is used to observe the damage process of the rock samples under the uniaxial compression. Through scanning CT technology has provided an opportunity for obtaining clear CT images which indicate micro crack evolution under the different stress stage. According to the CT images gray value, the meso-damage evolution of rock under uniaxial compression is analyzed, which can provide the basis for further study on the meso-damage evolution and rockburst mechanism.
