Research on Eliminating Interfering Factors in Measuring Wettability of Fine Coal Dust
It is an effective technique to reduce the concentration of coal dust by water spraying in mine. The opinions about the effects of coal dust suppressants are different in academic world. The authors found the low repeat rate and low reliability of the measurements in ordinary lab testing of coal dust wettability. The reasons include the influence of air diaphragm, the difference oftbe filling density oftbe dust in the tube and the interference of the hydrophilic property of the glass tube. To eliminate interfering factors in evaluating coal dust wettability measurements, the authors developed LM-3 device for briquette making of coal dust, composing the equipment of coal dust sample making together with DQ-2.5 digital stress testing machine. The authors suggest that the coal dust samples should be made by using briqueUing technique with pressure of 7-8 Mpa through adjusting the pressure at 0-6.5 t/cm2. The effect of this technique was validated in the lab dust suppression tests using an apparatus MCYZ.
