Study of Reducing Mine Dust Concentration in Working Face with Coal Seam Infustion

Dust prevention is always a public concern in coal excavating. In this paper, two coal tunneling faces were chosen, and four survey stations (2m, 5m far from working face respectively, driver station and 5m after driver station) were disposed at each tunneling face. The total dust concentration of fore-and-aft coal seam infustion were measured and compared, and the same method was used to analyze the level for the size distribution of respirable dust (0.5-2.0μm, 2.0-3.0μm, 3.0-5.0μm, 5.0-7.0μm). The results showed that the total level decreased obviously, and the average removal ratio was about 73%, and the maximal value can get around 85%. Satisfied effect was also obtained about the respirable dust, the average value is approximately 78%. Based on the data of size distribution measured, the optimal range was 3.0-5.0μm and the ratio was achieved to 82% or so. The corresponding mine gas level was also measured and the depressed level was found after coal seam infustion.
