Transaction Efficiency,Urbanization and Economic Development Involving Two Cities
This article generalizes the famous Fujita-Krugman model(1995)to the case involving two cities. In this case, the cities competes for attraction of immigrants,as they do in the market of industrial goods,so that the relationship among urbanization, industrialization and transaction efficiency is some what different from that of the classical Vujita-Krugman model. The atticle shows that all the transaction efficiencies depends on one another relevantly. It also shows that industrialization has nothing to do with urbanization, while urbanization influences industrialization.Different from the case of one city, industrialization in one city depends on not only the transaction efficiency of the industrial goods produced by this city or that of agricultural goods, but also on that of the industrial goods produced by the other city. The relationship between industrialization and transaction efficiency becomes more complicated.
