Thermally Stable and Low Refractive Nanohybrid Films Derived from Semi-alicyclic Polyimides and Magnesium Trifluoroacetate
Introduction: Low refractive index (low-n) combined with good thermal stability and high optical transparency are the basic concerns in designing anti-reflection coatings and waveguide applications. We have been developing a series of polyimides (PIs) which exhibit no coloration, high transparency, and low refractive indices by introducing fluorines and alicyclic structures in the PI main chain.PI (6FDA-DCHM) exhibits a low n of 1.509 and a low An of 0.001 at the wavelength of 1324 nm. Moreover, inorganic P1 nanohybrids can be versatile optical materials. We attempted to lower the refractive indices of Pls by incorporating fluorinated nanoparticles.
