Electrospinning: fabrication of orderly arrays of nanofibers and application in microfluidic chip

Electrospinning (ES) is a simple,low-cost and effective technique for fabricating micro-/nano-scale fibers of polymers. Typically, ES utilizes a high voltage to stretch the polymer matrixsolutions, resulting in the formation of micro-or nano-fibers that assemble into nonwoven membranes.Researchers can used these membranes for various applications such as scaffolds for tissue engineering, molecular sensors, and supports for catalysts. Herein we report: i) fabrication of nanofiber arrays via magnetic electrospirming; ii) assembly of a new version of microfluidic chip by using nanofibrous membrane as the solid support.
