Preparation of Styrene/Styryl-Polyhedral Oligomeric Siisesquioxane (POSS) Hybrid Copolymers with Half-titanocene

To prepare the stereoregular hybrid copolymer, the copolymerization of styrene (St) and styryl-POSS (St-POSS) monomer had been carried out with haif-titanocene and MAO cocatalyst. For Cp*TiCl3 and CpTiCl3 catalysts, the catalyst activity, monomer reactivity ratio, syndiotacticity and transition temperature had been examined.From the resolution of multimodal GPC chromatogram of copolymers, it was speculated that multi active centers were formed by the interaction of Ti species with siloxane cage of POSS to act as an inorganic support like silica.
