Study on the Microstructure and Catalytic Activity of Platinum Electrode of Oxygen Sensor
Changes of the microstructure of platinum paste used for oxygen sensor during drying and sintering were studied by SEM. The main factors influencing the tightness of sintered film and the relationship between porosity and sensitivity were discussed. The results indicated that the sintering temperature and schedule influence the mierostructure of the sintered film significantly. The pinhole in the platinum film appears at the temperature of 700℃. And it is attributed to the synthetical effects of the volatilization of organic component, the shrinkage of platinum and frit particles and the drawing force from the subetmte during cooling procedure. The porosity of the sintered film has great influence on the sensitivity of the oxygen sensor. The sensitivity increases with increase of the porosity.
