Studies of Platinum Coated Titanium Prepared by Platinum Compounds
Platinum coated titanium is prepared by thermal decomposition at 723-773K of the precursor with platinum compound, containing nitro or amino groups, etc., dissolved in acidic solvent. Comparing to the conventional precursor, the new precursor is of high platinum solubility, low platinum losses when platinum compounds decompose. Surface morphology and composition of platinum coating is obtained by scanning electron micrescopy. Polarization curves and accelerated life of samples prepared with different precursor is tested and compared in lmol/L H2SO4. This platinum coating prepared is of dense structure, long life, can be prepared on titanium substrate of various forms.
