Thermal Treatment Effects on Pt/C Electrocatalysis
Pt/C catalyst is produced by precipitation transformation method. The effect of thermal treatment on the morphological and electrocatalysis characteristics of catalyst is studied. Thermal treatmentleads to the growth of Pt particles. Low temperature treatment has few influence, but after thermal treatment at 500℃, the particle size grows up firom 2.8nm to 5.4nm, and the specific surface area decreases from 66m2/g to 31m2/g. After low temperature thermal treatment in H2, the specific suxface area increases, and the electrocatalysis activity on hydrogen oxidation is enhanced. The electrocatalysis performance on hydrogen oxidation is not only related to the specific surface area of catalysts, but also thestate of Pt oxidized.
