Influence of SEN rotary to steel flow field in mold for continuous casting slab
The control of flux-steel interface in the mold is an important process in the continuous slab casting operating. In order to investigate the flow dynamic behavior of the flux-steel interface,an Air-Flux-Steel Three phase model was established. Using Reynolds-Stress model and Inhomogeneous mixing model, the flow field of the three phases in the mold have been simulated, the shape and position of flux-steel interface were ascertained by volume fraction method.Asymmetric flow field will emerge when the SEN has a rotary angle, through investigation, it is found that the flux-steel interface fluctuation is much higher at some local position, and biased flow or even vortex phenomenon will happen in asymmetric flow field, which will do serious harm to mold operating.
