Shear Resistance Behavior of Steel Plate Shear Wall with Three-Side Connection

Static shear resistance behavior of steel plate shear wall (SPSW) with three-side connection was studied using finite element method in this paper. The elastic buckling performance of SPSW with three-side connection was studied,the influence of many coefficients on the elastic behaviour was studied including the elastic buckling strength and coefficients.The influence of depth-to-thickness ratio and span-to-depth ratio on the elasto-plastic behaviour of such shear walls was also researched. The results show that these two indexes are the key parameters to influence the elastic buckling strength of the shear wall; the elastic buckling strength decreases obviously with the depth-to-thickness ratio increases while the span-to-depth ratio is the most important factor to influence the buckling coefficient of SPSW with three-side connection
