The Effective Length of Compressive Brace in CFRST Truss
The Concrete-Filled Rectangular Steel Tube (CFRST) truss is a novel kind of structure with application prospect,which chord members are Concrete-Filled Rectangular Steel Tube,and its web members with rectangular steel tube are welded on the surface of CFRST chords,are studied in this paper. This paper centers on the effective length of compressive brace in CFRST truss,based on the reasonable simplified finite element model,the buckling analysis are used to find the effective lengths of compressed braces,analyzed and compared to the main parameter,such as the axial force ratio of compressive chord and tension chord with brace PCC/PB,PCT/PB,the width ratio of brace with chordβ,the depth ratio of brace with chord τ,the ratio of width with depth of the studied brace ν1,which influences the brace effective length coefficient. The results shows that the main influence factor concentrate on the ratios of the brace sectional size with chords,the brace effective length coefficient can be taken as 0.75,as to the end brace,a very conservative effective length coefficient equal to geometry length,just K=1.0.the relative relationship between effective lengths with effect factor are also provide in this paper.
