Study on Prying Force of High Strength Bolt in Extended End-Plate Connection
In this paper,ANSYS,a large general FEM software,is selected to carry on the high strength bolt in extended end-plate connection,about stress of mises,deformation of end-plate,distribution of prying force and tensile force of bolt. Prying force is proved to exist according to the results of FEM analysis. The influence of prying force descends obviously by the thickness of end-plate and the stiffener. It indicates that prying force increases tensile force of bolt assuredly. The tensile forces distribution of high strength bolt is a trapezoid which is rolled by the center of compression flange. By the result of calculation formula,it indicates that the formula about prying force is simple and applicable for design.
