A Study on Estimation of Stone Cultural Heritage Strength by Non-Destructive Test
This study is intended to suggest a prediction equation of stones compressive strength through an ultrasonic speed monitoring method and destructive compressive strength experiment. Its results are described as follows. When the stones hardness by ultrasonic velocity is estimated,it is better to use the indirect method by considering the features of ultrasonic delivery velocity and actual investigation methods accessibility. Also,it seems to be desirable to use the snug which can easily contact the transducer and the material and not to cause the pollution of stone cultural property as the contactor. As the result of comparing the ultrasonic velocity measuring value of specimen by roughness through the existing proposed equation and the equation of this study, the error of this studys estimate equation is lower,so that it estimates the similar hardness to the actual hardness. Also, the correction coefficient of reducing the error rate by transducer distance deems to be required.
