Fundamental Tests on Structural Health Monitoring Systems Using RFID Tag with Wire Strain Gages
In this paper,to clarify the applicability of RFID tags with sensors to structural health monitoring systems, fundamental tests were carried out using RFID tags with wire strain gages and built-in memory. Here,an alternative system was used because RFID tags with wire strain gages are under development in Japan. This system has almost identical performance to that of semipassive-type RFID tags and data communication is performed by wireless LAN.Fundamental performances of the wire strain gage were clarified through shaking table tests using two types of two-story specimens. Fundamental characteristics of the proposed system and wire strain gages, and the applicability of RFID tags with wire strain gages to structural health monitoring systems are discussed and clarified based on results of shaking table tests and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analyses.
