A Study on the Required Performance of Interface to Joint of Infill and Infill in Apartment House
Korean apartment houses are usually a ferroconcrete building that cannot satisfy the residents multifarious spatial demands according to their change of lifestyles. Because of this, architectural studies have been made continuously aiming to manifest an idea of Open Building to those apartments where durability and alterability were both considered. This innovative structure is classified with two different concepts-Support (structural form) and Infill (internal form involving spatial partition). However,the copulation occurs when the two different Infills are met together. The focal point of this research is on defining such inclusive ideas-a type of components that can be copulated, how those conditions are made and its systematical standard-by the Interface. Precisely, an Interface occurs when more than one Infill combine, and that an external factors worries about causing degradation of the performance of a copula considering the copulas characteristics brings to the conclusion that the performance requirements of an Interface should be taken into account. For this research gave clarification of standards and performance requirements items of an Infill by examining the domestic and foreign building codes and standards. And from this ground by considering an Infills performance constituting an Interface, the standard has been established in terms of performance items and levels that an Interface requires.
