Study on Symbiosis concept of Conversion in Industrial Heritage

In recent years, industrial ecology has been the subject of both academic and policy interest, as a means of implementing sustainable development.But, this theory was basically energy reducing, efficiency and ecological approach more than coexistence with people and local Community. With the combination of architectural symbiosis theory developed by Kurogawa Kisho and the existing Industrial Symbiosis concept can be good solution to find out the balance between design, policy and management. This article is intended to provide a re-interpretation of some of the key ideas involved in industrial symbiosis and to examine the possibility of conversion method throughout the several types of global examples, we will focus on the factories, storages, Mining and Docks which can improve the spatial conversion as the core of Urban Regeneration among several kinds of Industrial Heritages. As a results, we tried to find the reinterpreted industrial symbiosis definition, its specific value which is distinguished from other heritages, types of design strategies,converted functions and management method suitable for industrial heritage.
