A Study on Rules for The Estimation of Manpower for Bracket Complex Called DOU KE in The Chinese Classical Architectural Book Gong Cheng Zuo Fa Ze Lies Chapter 64:Carving

摘要：

The rules for the estimation of carving/turnery artisan works are explicitly described in Gong Cheng Zuo Fa Ze Lies Chapter 64:Carving. In this paper,we will analyze these rules of bracket complex called “Dou Ke. After thorough research, we find that the rules are very comprehensive and detailed. Besides, we also find that the amount of manpower needed by carving/turnery artisans in making Dou Ke and its components is determined by the number of Dou Ke and its components rather than the carving technique, context, width and so on.
