A field survey of HCHO,VOCs and TVOC concentration levels in the newly unoccupied apartment units
The study was intended to investigate the pollution density by HCHO, VOCs and TVOC of 160-units apartment building ready for occupation in Korea, and the study is highlighted as follows.1) The pollutants such as HCHO and TVOC, among others, appeared to have exceeded the allowable level in the newly unoccupied apartment building indicating a high density, particularly in summer when the room temperature is relatively high, which requires appropriate countplan for improvement. 2) The density on the upper floors and the units with the smaller area appeared to be higher than the units on the lower floors with the larger area. 3)The wooden finishing was found to have been the main cause of pollution and thus more careful attention needs to be given when selecting the finishing material.
