A Study on a Multi-Layered Urban Structure through Reinterpretation of anInterstice——Focused on Critical Review of the Redevelopment Plan of Sewoon District
The study intends to examine the diverse urban problems inherent in Seoul with regard to urban renewal, to explore the new possible feature of the future city of Seoul, and to investigate the redevelopment plan of Sewoon District from the critical viewpoint of modernism in Seoul. The main argument is placed in the paradoxical urbanism in a new redevelopment plan of the historically restored area while focusing on the international competition of the Renewal of Sewoon District. And the study finally seek to discover the new relationship between city and architecture, void and boundary conditions in order to recreate uniqueness of Seoul Metropolis in the 21st Century.
