1.Introduction I originally specialize in research on Japanese and ancient Asian architectural histories,but since 1992,I have become involved in the conservation and restoration of the Angkor monuments in Cambodia,and in 1991,I have begun research studies on the royal city of Hue in Vietnam and the project for its conservation and restoration.
