FACTORS INFLUENCING ONE STAGE MAGNETIC PULSE COMPRESSION SYSTEM OUTPUT
A magnetic pulse compression system is presented which does not contain external remagnetization circuits that are commonly used in magnetic compressors. A one stage compressor suffices to form 20kV, ~70ns pulses across a 207Ω resistive load. Equivalent circuits for two consecutive operation stages of the compressor accounting for nonlinear processes in magnetic switches are described and analyzed thoroughly. In conclusion, to get higher amplitude and faster fall time voltage pulse on resistive load we need higher resistivity load, lower saturated inductance and faster switching time of magnetic switch.
