STUDY ON THE EVALUTION OF DESIGN SCHEME OF DISTRIBUTION CENTER

This paper presents a evaluating method to optimize the design schemes of distribution center (DC). Logistics is a thriving and quickly expanding business in China. DCs occupy an important position in the supply chain.It is significant to research theories and provide reference for the design schemes of DCs. There are many factors,such as the scientific reasoning of the overall design, the efficiency of delivery, the dividing of space, the assessmentof qualification, the level of information, the environmental protection, the control of stocks and the investmentbudget, influencing the design schemes of DCs. Aiming at the main factors influencing the design scheme, a series ofindices are picked up and the evaluating method is established which is based on the grey relational analysis (GRA).With the help of this method, the best design scheme is selected among five tenders. The result shows that the evaluation method based on GRA is simple and scientific and has a promising prospect. The major contribution of this research lies in developing a formal evaluation framework for the design schemes of DC.
