Physico-chemical Conditions of Brittle Failure Behavior of Platinum Metals and Alloys when Interacting with the Melts of Chemical Elements
The effect of the melts of chemical elements on brittle failure of platinum metals and alloys is studied. The conditions, under which it is possible to estimate the ability of the melt of-a concrete chemical element to result in brittle failure of the platinum metals and alloys, are formulated. The chemical elements, the melts of which may result in brittle failure of the platinum metals and alloys, are revealed. The temperature boundary lines of brittle failure of the platinum metals and alloys under the action of the melts of chemical elements are determined. The results of the studies can be used by: the specialists of manufacturers and consumers of industrial products made of platinum metals and alloys; science officers and technical specialists engaged in development of methods of analysis, refining of platinum metals and development of new kinds of products made of platinum alloys.
